PacTrac is a cloud-based web platform for companies operating in the construction industry. It facilitates construction company management by enabling the managers to effectively handle employee allocations, schedules, jobs, interactions with clients and the workflows involved. Selleo was engaged by Northwood Advisors – a consulting company from Southern California – who designed the BPM tool for their client: Pacific West Communications, Inc. – a telecommunications infrastructure and site development company. Our main task was to work on the system architecture and develop the custom web platform. The web solution enables the user to manage employee tasks and clients, assign jobs to schedules as well as to conduct shift planning; the user-friendly interface makes it easy to schedule tasks for the workforce and to keep track of pending jobs. On top of that, the data available is aggregated and processed into easy-to-understand reports. The report generation functionality supports the evaluation of work done. PacTrac is integrated with the online document management system eBridge with powerful scanning, retrieval and reporting features. All of the PacTrac system features were designed to closely correspond to PWC business processes with their specific milestones, tasks and subtasks, expense tracking, etc. PacTrac is a Rails 4.0.1 / Ruby 2.0.0 / HTML5 / CSS3 application that uses a number of brand-new gems and external libraries.
